The Lodges -

The 74th Beaver Colony is split into four lodges - Hedgehogs, Squirrels, Otters and Badgers. They each have a Lodge Leader and Assistant Lodge Leader who are in charge of making sure uniform is correct and calling their lodge to order.

Each week the Beavers take part in activities and games which can earn stars for their lodge and at the end of each week one of the Beavers will be presented with the 'Beaver of the Week' medal and we also have a 'Beaver of the Month' award.

What do I have to pay?

The first meeting is free of charge which gives the opportunity to see if Scouts is for you. If you decide to stay then they will be invested and you will be required to pay full subs and capitation which covers weekly expenses, hut overheads and central costs of the Scout Movement. This is £2.50 per week which is payable weekly or termly via cheque.

We also ask for a one off payment of £16 at the time of investiture to cover the cost of the scarf and badges plus any badges that they may earn during their time as a Scout. Investiture will take place between 4 and 6 weeks of joining to enable you to work towards the membership badge.

Do you want to help?

We do need parents’ help at many of the Beaver outings and events, sometimes more than others. There is a Beaver Notice Board (in the main room) and this has details of extra activities which we may require assistance with.

If you would like to get more involved in helping to run Beavers, do let us know. It is very rewarding and great fun and you get to wear a uniform!
